There are total five tender offers to the public tender for construction of the flood defence wall at Vidin, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works announced. Among candidates are Vodostroi SC, Vidin, Transtroi Jsc, Varna, ‘Flood Defence Wall’ Co. - Ed. Zublin AG, Southeast Europe Division, Moststroi Jsc and Rosilex Jsc.
The construction is planned as by the ‘Bulgaria’ project - protection of the riverbanks and coastline against erosion and abrasion. The ‘Bulgaria’ project is financed by the European Investment Bank providing 25 million Euros, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development providing 15 million Euros and by the state budget - 14 million Euros. The construction works at the ‘Baba Vida’ site shall comprise the following: stabilization of the riverbank and protection dike, construction of the new section of the protection wall, stone facing of the wall.
